To make our most advanced trail, enduro, e-bike and DH hubs even better, we focus on durability and systematically eliminate potential sources of error using data we have collected from the more than 100,000 Hydra hubs in use worldwide.

The result is a hub that can withstand even the most extreme stresses from the most demanding riders. Here's how we achieved it:

A 65% thicker axle, redesigned to dissipate stress more effectively.

Larger 6903 bearings throughout, a new labyrinth channel, and a full-surface radial lip seal to keep out elements that cause premature bearing wear.

A new design to ensure consistent bearing preload, regardless of fluctuations in axle tension.

Larger pawl pockets of 5.5 mm, which dissipate force 26% better and prevent stretching and elongation of the pockets over the years.

Harder metal for the drive mechanism and an additional tooth on each pawl ensure that the Hydra2 can easily handle the torque of the most powerful e-bike motors.

In our quest to make the Hydra2 virtually indestructible, we made no compromises on key performance improvements. The next generation features both faster 0.41° engagement and 60% less rolling resistance than its predecessor.
